    YOUR ROLE:

    For day to day success, you will…

    • Attend daily meetings and provide Department Managers with updates of client communications and possible scope changes or scheduling issues.

    • Ensure that product or project delays are always communicated and updated with other Department Managers.

    • Properly communicate with Department Managers about delivery dates and cross department issues/scope sharing.

    • Update schedules daily across all departments.

    • Properly balance project labor and material budgets, while providing necessary updates to all involved parties.

    • Ensure that all manufacturing and fabrication projects are up to standards to prevent any future delays with the delivery of the project.

    • Ensure that all Department Managers are working from the correct drawings and most current client information.

    • Properly relay budgeted labor and material updates to affected Department Managers.

    • Ensure that all departments are building product to company standards as well as client quality standards.

    • Cohesively work with the Sales Department to manage client expectations.

    • Review all estimated scope and project information.

    • Collectively reviews all client provided designs or ideas.

    • Discusses all client quality expectations and end use.

    • Reviews all sales to client communications.

    SALARY RANGE:

    $65,000 - $120,000

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Gathers and prepares necessary information, tools and items needed to complete assigned painting task.

    Painting Faux Finishes such as wood graining, marbleizing, faux metal effects, aging, sponging, stippling and rag rolling.

    Field color Matching. Picks colors and mixes paint while using color matching for desired assignment.

    Creates, maintains and uses painting documentation. (Labeling all paints and materials to keep them organized and designated to specific projects.)

    Drawing, layout and painting of backdrops and murals with either brush or airbrush.

    Paint or airbrush of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional fields and props.

    Preps surface to be painted. Consists of cleaning, scraping, caulking, applying putty, sanding, patching, priming, and base painting (brush and roll) of surfaces.

    Cleans up paint area. Consists of picking up used tarps, rolling chords, removing tape, cleaning bushes, cleaning spills, resealing paint cans, and cleaning paint buckets. Then stores equipment/tools in designated storage area. This applies to both shop and on-site work stations.

    Stocking and organizing supplies in the scenic department when needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Entry level samples of a variety of faux finishes will be asked to be executed here at the shop before being considered to hire.

    High School Degree or GED required

    Ability to work with minimal supervision.

    Most of the work is done in house in a shop environment, but some jobs require being on site to do touch up and tie in after installation.

    A flexible schedule is helpful. Work shifts are generally 30-40hr/week, but sometimes big projects require overtime, weekends and/ or night shift availability.

    As a TECHNICAL DESIGNER you will work closely with other team members and engineers to provide accurate and detailed AutoCAD 3D models, from which production drawings will be created. These Drawings will give clear fabrication instructions and will allow the project to progress smoothly through the production floor.

    For day-to-day success, you will…

    • Review scope of project and project information with the Technical Design Manager and Project Manager.

    • Assist project-based meetings.

    • Create accurate and detailed AutoCAD 3D models of various scenic elements.

    • Produce clear and detailed production drawings for fabrication of various scenic elements reflective of design intent.

    • Work with other Technical Design employees and Production Management to design scenic elements that best meet design intent, in a manner that maximizes efficiency, safety and quality, while minimizing cost.

    • Incorporate Client, Engineering and Production feedback into the design.

    • Create files for CNC, based on AutoCAD 3D models and production drawings.

    • Provide required reports for time spent and job status.

    • Occasional site visits, to assess site conditions and verify dimensions.

    Description

    The Management Apprenticeship at Bungalow Scenic Studios offers hands-on experience in various aspects of leadership and operations within the entertainment industry. Apprentices will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining insight into project management, client relations, team coordination, and business strategy while actively contributing to the success of diverse projects and initiatives.

    Importantly, depending on the department chosen for the apprenticeship, participants will follow the job description of a full-time employee, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their role within the organization and preparing them for future leadership positions.

    Objective

    The objective of the management apprenticeship program at Bungalow Scenic Studios is to provide aspiring leaders in the entertainment industry with immersive, hands-on experience and mentorship. Through exposure to various departments and responsibilities, apprentices will develop the skills and expertise necessary to excel in their chosen field while actively contributing to the success of the organization's projects and initiatives.

    Details

    A one-year, full-time apprenticeship designed to train aspiring themed entertainment enthusiasts and craftsmen through hands-on experience and mentorship. Successful completion may lead to potential hiring opportunities.
